Frequently asked questions
Why should I have this treatment?
Our ‘Deep Cleanser’ facial is a must for our patients that have concerns with blackheads, whiteheads, breakouts and want to treat their skin to an in-depth cleanse. With the use of a steamer and heated mitts your pores will be open and ready to be unclogged! A superficial exfoliation will remove dead skin cells that are giving a dull appearance to your skin and a lymphatic massage with ice globes will help soothe and calm irritated skin.
What results can I expect?
The main focus of this treatment is to remove congestion and clean out blocked pores. Along with the exfoliation of dead skin cells you will leave looking fresh faced and bright. As there may be a little redness after the manual extractions, the light therapy combined with a soothing face mask will help calm and refresh the face.
Will it work for my skin type?
This treatment works well on all skin types, and is a really good maintenance facial to keep on top of congestion and general health of the skin.
Sensitive skins will benefit from the light therapy which will help calm any redness from the extractions.
Pre-treatment advice
Wear comfortable clothes to your appointment and ideally arrive with no makeup or jewellery on. As this is a gentle facial that does not involve resurfacing, you will be fine to continue using actives such as retinol or salicylic up till the day before your treatment.
What happens during the treatment?
The treatment begins with a cleanse & exfoliation under our steamer, this will help open pores and prepare the skin for extractions. Next we use a ultrasonic blackhead removal device that glides over the skin removing stubborn blackheads and dead skin cells. A soothing detox mask is applied and a lymphatic massage with ice globes will help cool the skin and close the pores post treatment. The treatment is completed with a 10 minute session under our Dermalux Light Therapy and application of aftercare products.
What does the treatment feel like?
Our ultrasonic blackhead scrubber takes away the discomfort of manual extractions, however there may be some areas which are best for a little manual extraction (your aesthetician will discuss this with you prior). The remainder of the treatment is very relaxing and the inclusion of light therapy and ice globes is a real treat for the skin.
Aftercare
It is best to allow the skin to breathe so we advise 24 hours without make up. Stay hydrated post treatment and be careful of actives such as salicylic for a few days post facial as we do use products containing this during our treatment.
Benefits of a Deep Cleanse Facial
This facial offers a refreshing and rejuvenating experience that goes beyond basic skincare. This treatment deeply purifies the skin by removing dirt, oil, and impurities from clogged pores, which can help reduce breakouts and improve overall skin texture. The soothing process often includes exfoliation, steam, masks, and a relaxing facial massage, making it not only beneficial for the skin but also calming for the mind. Many people leave feeling refreshed, with visibly brighter and smoother skin, and a renewed sense of confidence. Would you like this tailored for a spa brochure or something else?
